Under-machine conveyors have effectively addressed the three most critical challenges associated with paper machines. Firstly, in terms of the working environment, clearing up after a web break used to pose safety risks.

Secondly, there were issues related to time loss and raw material waste, especially when returning broke to the pulper, leading to significant production losses due to frequent machine stops and starts. Thirdly, the limited accessibility for servicing rolls and threading equipment as well as utilizing the dead space beneath the machines. This due to the messy environment and the need for moving heavy machinery during clean-up.
